Scientists at the University at Buffalo's Institute for Lasers, Photonics and Biophotonics and Roswell Park Cancer Institute recently published research results about their innovative delivery system being the drug itself. The drug delivery system used nanocrystals of a hydrophobic drug, which the researchers claim were taken up effectively by the tumors in vivo. By combining the drug with its delivery system, it eliminates potential toxicity to the body, which means no additional federal or regulatory approvals would be required.
